Victron ESS
A Victron Energy Storage System (ESS) is the ultimate home power solution. A highly customisable solution built upon decades of development. A Victron ESS is a specific type of hybrid power system that integrates a power grid connection (Eskom), and optionally a generator, with a Victron Inverter, a solar charge controller (or grid-tied PV inverter), and a battery system. The system is then managed by a monitoring & control device, like the Victron Cerbo GX. The system stores solar energy in your battery during the day, for use later on when the sun stops shining.
This proven solution is a market leader providing an optimal combination of power security and solar savings.

Victron Off-Grid
The presence of a traditional and functional electricity Grid is not always a valid assumption. Sometimes being incredibly remote from civilisation is the intention, yet the necessity to have a reliable electricity supply is paramount. Victron Energy offers you such an answer. We are proud to offer you our modern translation for freedom and independence.
If the sun is your only available source of energy, the choice is simple. You will choose a solar system in order to meet your demand for energy. If there are more sources available, these could support your solar system. Because the fact is, that the sun isn’t always able to entirely cover your energy demand. A solar system is often supported by a generator set or a wind generator. These energy sources can make certain that the solar deficit is covered. Designing combinations such as these, which include several energy sources, is what Victron Energy does best.
High-Definition Monitoring
View in-depth performance details from the palm of your hand or sitting on the couch with a laptop. Browse through days, weeks, months and even years worth of historical performance data – allowing you to track just how well your system is performing. Victron’s High-Definition Monitoring allows the owner to plot an upgrade path to complete energy independence – based on the flexible and highly scalable Victron architecture. Feature-rich monitoring is the backbone of a reliable and effective energy storage system – this is one of the many areas where Victron equipment excels and fundamentally differentiates itself in the market.

Inverter
This is the heart of your system. An Inverter performs the conversion of battery DC power into traditional AC power. The built-in charger allows you to charge the battery after it has been depleted. The size of the inverter needs to be determined by the amount of load (electrical appliances) that you would like to support during a power failure.

Battery
Energy Storage is a key component in any hybrid power system. Batteries allow energy to be stored, which can later be used by the inverter to supply loads (electrical appliances) during a power failure. Batteries can also be used to store excess solar energy, which can then be discharged at night to further reduce your electricity bill.
Solar Charge Controller
A solar charger gathers energy from your solar panels, and stores it in your batteries. This energy can be used by the inverter to supply loads (electrical appliances). This type of solar configuration is called DC-Coupled Solar.
Grid-Tied Inverter
A grid-tied inverter converts solar DC power into conventional AC power. The AC power generated by the grid-tied inverter can then be used to supply loads (electrical appliances). This type of solar configuration is called AC-Coupled Solar. Grid-Tied inverters are preferred over Solar Charge Controllers in applications that involve a large number of solar panels (>5kWp) due to convenient and efficient string configurations.
Solar Panels
Solar Panels harvest energy from the sun and allow you to use or store that energy. Solar panels come in a range of different sizes, power ratings and cell technologies. These factors will need to be taken into account when determining the right solar panel for your application.
